Haven't you always wanted to judge a beauty contest? A hospital that makes patients feel better on arrival? It's true— beautiful hospitals have been shown to speed healing. In honor of that, it's time for round seven of Soliant's Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S. We’re taking nominations during the month of April so just fill out the nomination form then come back in May to cast your vote. Pretty hospitals that boost healing? Now that's a beautiful thing.
"We were inspired to create this list by recent data that found 'happy hospitals make happy patients,'" said David Alexander, president of Soliant Health. "As a provider of healthcare professionals for hospitals, we recognize that staff morale and attention to patients' needs are critical to patients' happiness, but the survey also showed that another factor in satisfaction was how the hospital actually looked."
The link between beautiful hospitals and pleased patients has been observed by Soliant Health's travelers as they work in facilities around the country. "There is a special feel to hospitals with inviting public spaces and soothing private rooms," said Gale Yochum, a ten-year Soliant operating room travel nurse. "Patients who feel satisfied with the facility may recover faster and have shorter stays, which is good for both hospital and patient."
"McKay-Dee Hospital is excited to be named the most beautiful hospital in America. At Intermountain Healthcare, we strive every day to provide a healing environment to our patients, not only within our facilities, but also in the hearts and minds of all of our team members, from caregivers and planners to environmental services and support teams. We have found that beauty is just as important in the smile of a nurse and the comforting voice of a doctor as it is within the walls and the grounds of the hospital itself."
