Assistant Director of Pharmacy position now open in Jacksonville, Florida.
General Job Summary: Supervises daily operations of a large de-centralized inpatient pharmacy department. Schedules employees and monitors training and time keeping. Is responsible for the ordering of controlled substances, and overseeing all required documentation is complete and accurate; oversees departmental Quality Improvement initiatives; coordinates all Investigation Drug studies, record keeping and other pharmacy responsibilities.
Direct Reports: 10 – 14 Clinical Pharmacists who are stationed on the various units.
Education Required: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD)
Education Preferred: Masters in Business preferred, preferred to have completed an accredited residency training program
Certifications/Registrations:
Licensure: Florida Pharmacist license through the Department of Health; Florida Pharmacy Consultant license preferred.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 3 years experience in a manager / assistant director role, must have 2 years as Staff Pharmacist in the inpatient setting; proven leadership experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting with 200 beds or larger;
NECESSARY SKILLS
Strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills, listening skills, decision making and budgeting ability. Ability to fill in when needed in all areas of primary responsibility. Able to use Microsoft office and all other hospital software based on requirement to successfully perform duties.
