We have an exciting new Pharmacy Operations Manager opportunity in the surrounding area of Fremont, OH.
The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for standardizing pharmacy operations and ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal service on a daily basis, throughout the health system. The Pharmacy Operations Manager facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies.
Current license in OH
Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.
Health System Experience required (8-10 years preferred)
Management training or equivalent managerial experience (3-5 years preferred)
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates development, implementation, and maintenance of pharmacy operations throughout the organization.
Collaborates with pharmacy leadership to develop and maintain a medical staff-approved formulary.
Facilitates the implementation and maintenance of safe medication-use processes throughout the organization.
Ensures maintenance of an adequate medication supply and integrity of the medication supply; establishes specifications for the procurement of medications, chemicals, and biologicals
Establishes practices that ensure strict control and accountability for medications dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock.
Assists the Pharmacy Director in the preparation of department budget for personnel, operating expenses and capital equipment.
Responsible for fiscal operation of the department.
Ensures preparation and submission of patient charges and financial reports.
Collaborates with the Pharmacy Clinical Services Manager to ensure high quality and effective operation of the pharmacy departments.
Reviews the performance and productivity of pharmacy operations; prepares reports and metrics as directed.
Ensures compliance with health-system policies and procedures that apply to pharmacy services as well as with all applicable federal/state/local laws, rules, and regulations.
Coordinates activities to ensure competency of pharmacy technicians.
Works in collaboration with the nursing and medical staffs and other ancillary service lines in providing pharmaceutical services to all patients ranging from the newborn to the elderly.
Develops, implements, and maintains a program that improves the quality of pharmacy services, improves medication-use safety, and supports the quality improvement plan of the organization
Participates in all committees/functions required by the organization including the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Establishes productive, collaborative working relationships with medical staff, ancillary departments and staff members
Effectively organizes and leads pharmacy staff meetings; effectively and consistently communicates administrative directive to personnel and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions.
Perform all additional duties as assigned by the department director.
