Unit/department specific training and orientation program:
Neuro Intermediate is a very busy unit. The patients are sick, not quite sick enough to go to the ICU, but too sick to be on the general floor. Nurses complete Q 4 hour assessments on all patients. All patients are high fall risk due to bedside monitors and wires. Most travel RN’s complete 2 twelve hour shifts on the floor with another RN before working on their own. Would be some other unit orientation with our educator. Would need to confirm that with him.
