Soliant Health is scheduling interviews for a school district near Hartford, CT. This is a part-time Educational Interpreter position of about seventeen to twenty hours weekly. The SLI will be working one-on-one with a high-school student.
Job duties of the interpreter will consist of translating in the classroom for the student who is deaf or hearing impaired, assisting with daily activities in the school environment, and participating as a member of the educational team. The SLI will be responsible for translating information spoken by a teacher/instructor to the student in a classroom setting. An ideal candidate must possess strong verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to develop professional working relationships with teachers, administrators, and students.
Passing score on National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf with at least a level three certification
Holds a level four certification or higher from the National Association of the Deaf
Previous experience as an Educational Interpreter is preferred.
