A Riverside, CA area school district along with Soliant Health are currently looking for a Teacher for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join their team.
The Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) assists in developing language acquisition and communication skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of the students within the program who have a hearing loss.
This is a full-time position working with students in a school setting.
- Candidates will be able to provide consultation and direct instruction for identified deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Applicants will serve as the teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing in the assessment and identification of children with potential hearing loss.
- Candidates will demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of language development and language refinement needed by hearing impaired children
- Applicants will demonstrate knowledge and ability to implement the following specialized areas: auditory training, speech and speech reading, monitoring amplification use and maintenance of hearing aids, and use of interpreter.
