Radiation Oncology Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my recruiter?
At Soliant Health, we build lasting relationships with our radiation therapy providers. You can expect professionalism, support and results from your recruiter. He or she becomes your primary point of contact—a combination of career counselor and friend. You can always count on your recruiter to be your “go to” person, always ready to provide decision support, advice and career planning.

How do I become a travel radiation therapy provider with Soliant Health?
You can call one of our recruiters at 800.849.5502 or fill out an online application - it’s that easy!

What are the current requirements for travel radiation therapy providers?
The minimum requirements include a valid license in your discipline for the states where you practice, a copy of your current ARRT card, a current BCLS (CPR) card, copies of all applicable certifications and/or licensures, updated physical and vaccinations, recent relevant experience, and solid medical employment references.

How long is the typical travel radiation therapy provider assignment?
Most of our travel assignments last between four and 13 weeks. Occasional exceptions are made in some circumstances.

Once I have accepted a travel assignment, what happens next?
Once you have accepted a travel assignment, your Soliant Health recruiter will confirm your start date, salary, unit, and shift. While your recruiter is making sure all the necessary requirements are met, our travel coordinators are arranging the logistics on getting you to your assignment and making sure you have safe and comfortable lodging. You will receive all of this information before your start date!

Where are Soliant Health travel radiation therapy providers placed?
We have positions in small towns and large cities—in large hospitals and in local medical facilities. Soliant can place you almost anywhere you want to go and we offer a variety of travel options.

Do I need a license for each state?
Yes, as a radiation therapy tech or physicist, you will need to have an active licensure for those states that require one, in addition to your ARRT and/or ABR certification. You must also be sure to be licensed before you begin your assignment. Your recruiter can help you through the quick and easy state licensure process.

Once I'm licensed as a travel radiation therapy provider in one state, how long does it take to get licensed in another state?
Each state has different licensing regulations. One state may get you your license the same day, but another may take several months. Your recruiter will help you with the entire process.

Does Soliant provide benefits to temp-to-hire placements?
You are eligible for benefits with Soliant while you are a locum radiation therapy provider. Should you accept a permanent position with a client, you are then eligible for benefits provided by your new employer.

How much money will I make as a travel radiation therapy provider with Soliant Health?
Your compensation amount depends on your experience level, hours, location and facility. We will work to create a custom compensation package for you.

How often will I be paid?
You will be paid every Friday during your assignment. You also have the option to sign up for direct deposit. Your recruiter can show you how.

How are taxes handled?
As your employer, Soliant Health withholds your taxes, so you don’t have to worry about the self-employment tax. At the end of the year, you'll receive a W-2 from every state in which you worked. Your recruiter can tell you more about how this works.

What happens once my assignment is complete?
You can stay in your assignment as long as you’d like if the facility asks you to stay. Or, you can work with your recruiter to find a permanent position or a new travel radiation therapy provider assignment.
