Sue’s Interview

We were given the opportunity to sit down with Sue to hear her story and how Soliant has given her the opportunity to travel the country while doing what she loves as a Certified Surgical Technician.

Q: Where has your favorite destination been?

A: I have two! Redding, CA and Charleston, SC. Redding was my favorite because of the beautiful mountains so close by, such as the Trinity Mountains and Mount Shasta. Charleston was wonderfulbecause of the boat tours, horse-drawn carriage tours and all things historical.

Q: What do you enjoy the most, as well as the least, about being a travel Certified Surgical Technician?

A:  Meeting the different people was my favorite part.  I would say my least favorite part about working as a travel Certified Surgical Technician was being assigned to places that were not busy. I love staying busy and working hard, rather than stand around watching the clock tick by.

Q: What advice would you give anyone considering a career in travel healthcare?

A: The number one thing I tell people is to be extremely honest when filling out a skills list. It’salways best to adapt and to not expect to know everything. If there’s one thing healthcare staff don’t like when walking in as a new person, it’s hearing the words “I know.”

Q: How has working with Soliant changed your life?

A: Working with Soliant has made me more relaxed. If it wasn’t so easy, I may have switched companies. I have had my recruiter from day one and she has always made it very easy to travel for you guys.

Q: What are you looking forward to most in retirement?

A: Relaxing. I have been so busy in my work and life, so I am looking forward to resting and relaxing.

Our Soliant team would love to extend our appreciation to Sue for taking the time to share her story with us. We would also love to thank her for what she does every single day to help others. Sue exemplifies the characteristics of a Soliant team member and we can’t thank her enough.
