Position: 1:1 Para - Special Education

Position Details:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Para to join our team in providing essential support to a 6th-grade student with multiple disabilities, including visual impairments. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in the student's educational journey.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to the 6th-grade student throughout the school day.
• Assist the student in accessing the curriculum, materials, and technology.
• Collaborate with teachers and special education professionals to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) effectively.
• Offer emotional and behavioral support as needed to foster a positive learning environment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the student at all times.
• Foster independence and self-confidence in the student to promote their overall development.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree or relevant coursework in education is a plus).
• Experience working with students with disabilities, especially those with visual impairments.
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow and implement IEPs and other individualized plans.
• Willingness to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of the student.
