Paraprofessional School Job Description

Position: Paraprofessional

Location: State: IL

Contract Period: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) - Ending on 5/31/24

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to an 8th-grade student who is mostly independent with toileting needs.
• Assist the student in understanding and completing classroom assignments.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement individualized educational plans.
• Support the student's social and emotional development.
• Ensure the student's safety and well-being during school hours.
• Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding the student's progress.
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Reliable and punctual.
