Job Description:
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) seeking an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs? We are currently seeking a 1:1 Registered Nurse to join our team in the Life Skills Program. This role is an integral part of our special education program and provides essential support to a high school student with mild to moderate disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized healthcare support to the student, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing medical equipment as needed.
- Assist the student in daily activities, including mobility, toileting, and hygiene, as required.
- Collaborate with the school's healthcare team, teachers, and therapists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all interactions and interventions.
- Act as a liaison between the school, the student's family, and healthcare providers.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for the student, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
- Experience working with students with special needs or in a school setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of the student.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
