Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified School Registered Nurse to provide healthcare services to a male student on a 1:1 basis. This position is based in Fleetwood, PA, and offers approximately 35-40 hours per week during the 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift. Please note that full-time hours are not guaranteed due to the student's potential absences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care and support to the assigned student, following established protocols and medical plans.
- Monitor and assess the student's health condition, including vital signs, medication administration, and response to treatments.
- Respond to any medical emergencies or health-related issues that may arise during school hours.
- Collaborate with the student's family, healthcare providers, and school personnel to develop and implement an individualized health plan.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and communication related to the student's health.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as school policies and procedures, regarding the administration of medication and provision of healthcare services.
- Educate and train school staff on relevant health-related topics, including emergency procedures and the management of the student's specific healthcare needs.
- Establish positive relationships with the student, promoting a safe and supportive environment for their physical and emotional well-being.
- Stay updated on current healthcare practices, trends, and advancements, attending professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Previous experience working as a school nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Respect for privacy and confidentiality regarding student health information.
