We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Galena, IL. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide valuable support and therapy services to students in order to enhance their overall well-being and facilitate their success in the educational setting. This is a full-time position for the 2023-2024 school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to help students achieve their educational goals.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' participation in academic, social, and recreational activities.
  • Provide direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, sensory integration activities, and fine motor skill development.
  • Monitor students' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
  • Educate and train teachers, parents, and other staff members on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development sessions.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois.
  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to occupational therapy in an educational environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Passion for helping students reach their full potential.
