Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, in accordance with individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Develop and implement appropriate teaching strategies and accommodations to promote student progress and success
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative and inclusive educational environment
  • Conduct assessments and gather data to inform instructional planning and monitor student progress
  • Modify curriculum materials to meet the individual needs of students
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom climate that promotes student engagement and fosters social-emotional development
  • Implement behavior management strategies and support students with behavior intervention plans
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the IEP team to develop, review, and revise student goals and services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for working with students with special needs and making a positive impact in their lives
