2023 ESY - Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the Extended School Year (ESY) program in Riverside, CA. This is a part-time position for the duration of June 1, 2023, to June 29, 2023. As an SLPA, you will play a crucial role in providing speech and language services to students during the ESY program.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organize speech and language materials and resources for therapy sessions.
• Provide speech and language therapy services to students according to individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment goals.
• Collaborate with the speech-language pathologist (SLP) and other team members to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
• Assist in the assessment and progress monitoring of students' communication skills.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state regulations.

Requirements:

• Valid certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the state of California.
• Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
• Experience working with individuals with communication disorders, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and the school team.
• Proficiency in using computer software and applications relevant to speech and language therapy.
