Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of students? We are currently seeking a motivated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in Lincoln, NE for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
  • Create and adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and functional life skills
  • Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to facilitate student learning
  • Provide behavior management and intervention strategies to support positive student behavior
  • Monitor and document student progress, preparing reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other school-based activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and employ various teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals and parents
