Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate the sensory, motor, and self-care needs of students.
  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans to address students' unique challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and IEP teams to ensure that therapy goals are integrated into students' educational plans.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Offer guidance and training to teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' development and inclusion.
  • Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Advocate for and promote inclusive practices within the school community.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports.

Qualifications:

  • A valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Certification in School Occupational Therapy is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting is a plus.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic school environment.
  • Dedication to enhancing students' physical and emotional well-being.
