Job Title: School Social Worker - Full-Time

Location: Lapeer, MI

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated School Social Worker to join our team in Lapeer, MI. Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive social work services to students, families, and school staff to support students' social-emotional development and academic success
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify social, emotional, and behavioral concerns affecting students' educational progress
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized interventions and support plans
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students individually and in group settings
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans
  • Connect students and families to community resources and support services as needed
  • Collaborate with school personnel to create a positive and inclusive school climate
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation

Requirements:

  • Masters in School Social Work per the Michigan Rules and Regulations for Special Education
  • Limited License accepted as long as the candidate is enrolled in an MSW program for social work in special education
  • Knowledge of Michigan special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Strong assessment, counseling, and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for supporting students' social-emotional well-being and academic success
