Soliant is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Contracted Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2023/2024 school year in California. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, administrators, and other professionals.
- Design and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction based on students' abilities, learning styles, and individualized goals.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, instructional materials, and technologies to facilitate active learning and promote student engagement.
- Assess students' progress regularly and make necessary adjustments to instructional strategies and interventions.
- Provide ongoing support and accommodations to students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms, ensuring their access to the general education curriculum.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students with special needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of students' progress, interventions, and IEP goals.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, providing updates on students' academic and behavioral performance.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and individualized education team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid California teaching credential or equivalent certification in Special Education.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities and learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive instructional strategies.
Contract Details:
- This is a contracted position for the 2023/2024 school year, with the possibility of extension.
- The position will be based in California, and specific location details will be provided during the hiring process.
