23/24 SY - Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) - Pittsfield, MA

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) to join our educational team for the upcoming school year in Pittsfield, MA. As a DHHT, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, helping them develop their language, communication, and academic skills.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments
• Provide direct instruction to students, utilizing appropriate teaching strategies and materials
• Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each student
• Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning and communication
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and discussing strategies for support at home
• Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
• Valid state certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, assessment methods, and assistive technology for students with hearing impairments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students across grade levels (K-12)
• Passion for working with students with disabilities and promoting inclusive education
