Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location: Penacook, NH
School Year: 2024-2025
Overview:
Concord School District is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2024-2025 school year. The COTA will support occupational therapy services in our schools, working closely with students, teachers, and families to promote functional independence and enhance academic performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapy Support: Implement individualized occupational therapy plans developed by an Occupational Therapist (OT). Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
- Assessment Assistance: Assist in conducting assessments and documenting student progress. Support the OT in evaluating and monitoring students' needs and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and routines. Provide guidance on modifying the environment to support students' functional needs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, student progress, and other relevant data. Prepare and update reports for parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Compliance and Training: Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and school policies. Assist in providing training and resources to staff and parents on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current New Hampshire licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
