Soliant is staffing autism support teacher positions west of Detroit! Hired ASD teachers have the opportunity to work full or part-time this year! Contracts typically renew yearly!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan a program of activities that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students with disabilities Create an environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate for students with disabilities within the parameters of the Common Core State Standards and Dynamic Learning Maps Schedule, attend, and conduct Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT) meetings within required timelines Orient the learning process toward the achievement of specific IEP goals Evaluate the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provide progress reports when necessary utilizing smarter balanced summative, interim and formative assessments Gather as much factual data as possible on students with suspected problems and refer to the screening and evaluation team Establish and maintain positive rapport with parents Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for program paraprofessionals and volunteer
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have a BS or BA from an accredited University with an ASD endorsement Michigan Department of Education Elementary Teaching Certification Candidates must meet Highly Qualified teacher requirements as defined in the NCLB Act
