Soliant is working with a charter school in Brooklyn, NY, and is seeking several Special Education Teachers for open positions. Applicants will predominantly be serving as co-teachers, and work with students between 4th to 8th grades.

Position 1: 6th grade, Integrated co-teaching classroom (applicants will provide small group instruction support in a Gen Ed classroom)
Position 2: 4th to 8th grade Resource Teaching 
Position 3: 5th grade, Integrated co-teaching classroom
Position 4: 8th grade Integrated co-teaching classroom.

Requirements:

  • Special Education teacher certificate from the New York Department of Education
  • 1+ years of experience with resource teaching preferred

Pay and benefits:

  • Hourly, W2 pay of $45 to $52 per hour

Description of duties:

  • Develop social and academic programs according to IEPs
  • Plan lessons in accordance with IEP goals
  • Monitor student progress with a blend of informal observations and scored assessments
  • Present positive role model for students
  • Refer to community resources  aid students in dealing with emotional/physical needs
  • Manage student behavior and administer discipline according to IEPs
  • Plan and supervise activities for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s)
  • Ensure that instructional program is compliant with campus, district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reports, records, and documents.
