Wyoming Area School District - School Nurse (Full-Time)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) seeking a rewarding opportunity to provide one-on-one care for a special needs student?

Wyoming Area School District is seeking a qualified and caring School Nurse to join our team for a temporary full-time position. In this critical role, you will provide essential healthcare services to a student with special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.

About the Position:

As a School Nurse with Wyoming Area School District, you will be responsible for the comprehensive care of a single student. Your duties will include:

  • Reporting to the student's home in Harding, PA (zip code 18643) at 7:15 AM to assist with morning routines.
  • Accompanying the student by car to their school at NEIU-19 Learning Campus in Dunmore, PA.
  • Providing one-on-one care throughout the school day, including medication administration, toileting/diapering if needed, and assisting with mobility (may require heavy lifting).
  • Collaborating with the school nurse at NEIU-19 Learning Campus to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential student health records.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's care.


  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Pennsylvania clearances (Child Abuse, Criminal History, FBI Fingerprint)
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children in a healthcare setting (preferred)
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a reliable and punctual individual with a valid driver's license


  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: June 10th, 2024 (potential for renewal)
