Position Details:

- Location: Near Sacramento, California
- Caseload: K-12
Responsibilities: As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in our school, you will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy services to students of various grade levels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with evaluations and assessments to identify students' functional abilities and areas of need.
- Implementing therapeutic interventions and activities under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist to improve students' motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and overall functional performance.
- Collaborating with the Occupational Therapist, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students.
- Providing support to students during therapy sessions and assisting them in achieving their therapy goals.
- Monitoring students' progress and documenting their performance and outcomes.
- Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure the integration of occupational therapy strategies into the students' daily routines and educational plans.
- Participating in team meetings and providing input on students' progress and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
- Valid certification/license to practice as a COTA in California.
- Previous experience working as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Familiarity with IEP process and experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students of different age groups and abilities.
