Certified School Nurse Needed! 2023-2024 SY

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified School Nurse to join our educational institution for the 2023-2024 school year. As a Contracted Certified School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive health services to students, promoting wellness, and ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct healthcare services to students in accordance with state regulations, district policies, and nursing standards.
• Conduct health screenings, assessments, and evaluations to identify and address students' health concerns.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and first aid as necessary, and maintain accurate records of student health-related information.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for students with health-related challenges, including accommodations and modifications as required.
• Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Serve as a resource to teachers and staff in addressing health-related issues and implementing appropriate protocols.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings to advocate for students' health needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Stay updated on current healthcare practices, policies, and legislation relevant to school nursing.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a School Nurse in the state of Illinois.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Experience working as a School Nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is highly preferred.
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, staff, and healthcare providers.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school nursing.
• Ability to adapt to diverse student populations and accommodate individual needs.
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.

Contract Details: This is a contracted position for the duration of the 2023-2024 school year, with the possibility of renewal for subsequent years. The position is full-time, following the academic calendar, and offers competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
