For details of Job description, please see below: JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Imaging Diagnostic Manager, the CT Tech utilizes computed tomography with the operation of CT/X-ray/bone density equipment to obtain quality diagnostic images for interpretation or intervention by the Radiologist. Exhibits quality patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for the successful completion of the procedure. Essential Functions: Performs a variety of CT exams related to the field. Explain the procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam. Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis of disease. Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient, staff and self. Administer prescribed contrast media according to established guidelines. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions to the lead technologist. REQUIREMENTS: Must be ARRT certified in Radiography and CT and currently licensed by the State of Arkansas. Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (R) (ARRT) registration or pending registration Current CPR/ BLS certification Basic knowledge of Siemens CT Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide basic x-ray procedures. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and body mechanics necessary to safely perform x-ray exams. Basic knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology. Basic understanding of computer functions necessary to perform x-ray exams Ability to communicate clearly and provide routine diagnostic imaging procedures to children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients with consideration to cultural and developmental stages during the exam process.
