An esteemed educational institution in Auburn, NE is seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for a full-time position during the 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver virtual instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Modify and adapt instructional materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for students.
  • Utilize appropriate virtual tools and platforms to facilitate student learning and communication.
  • Collaborate with students, families, and the school team to support student progress and foster a positive virtual learning environment.
  • Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, and provide timely feedback to students and families.
  • Engage in virtual meetings, professional development activities, and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • State certification or licensure as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher.
  • Experience teaching or providing support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
  • Proficiency in utilizing virtual platforms and tools for instructional purposes.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies, assistive technology, and communication modalities for students with hearing loss.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
