We are currently hiring for a full-time DHH Teacher position in Pittsfield, MA. Join our team and work in partnership with a leading school district in the area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' unique needs and foster academic growth.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies, technologies, and resources to facilitate student learning, language development, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to create a collaborative and cohesive educational experience for students.
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain accurate records to track individual achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid state certification as a DHH Teacher or eligibility to obtain certification in Massachusetts.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive technologies used by DHH students.
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual needs.
