DHH Teacher Needed In Pittsfield, MA for a Full Time School Contract - 2023/2024 School Year

We are currently hiring for a full-time DHH Teacher position in Pittsfield, MA. Join our team and work in partnership with a leading school district in the area.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' unique needs and foster academic growth.
• Utilize effective teaching strategies, technologies, and resources to facilitate student learning, language development, and communication skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to create a collaborative and cohesive educational experience for students.
• Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain accurate records to track individual achievements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid state certification as a DHH Teacher or eligibility to obtain certification in Massachusetts.
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive technologies used by DHH students.
• Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual needs.
