Soliant Education has partnered with a local school district in the Augusta, Maine area to hire several Educational Technicians/Paraprofessionals for the 2023/2024 school-year. 

Monday - Friday (excluding school breaks and holidays) Full-time positions. 35 hours per week when school is in session. 
*These positions will remain open until it is filled. Flexibility on start date available if needed.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement lesson plans and provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students, offering additional help and reinforcement of concepts as needed.

Behavioral Support: Assist in managing and maintaining classroom discipline, promoting a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere, and implementing behavior intervention strategies when required.

Special Education Support: Work closely with special education students, following individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing assistance in activities of daily living and academic tasks.

Resource Development: Help create and adapt instructional materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
Assessment Support: Assist in administering assessments and tests, providing accommodations as necessary for students with disabilities.
Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure classroom environment, ensuring the well-being of students during instructional and non-instructional times.

Communication: Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to provide updates on student progress and discuss strategies for improvement.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or higher is preferred
  • Applicant has passed the Educational Technician I exam in Maine (or obtained higher credential)
  • Previous professional experience working with school aged children preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or other special needs is highly preferred
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete required onboarding

This is a full-time position, following the school calendar schedule. 
Competitive and negotiable hourly rate will be determined based on experience of applicant.  Applicant will not be paid when school is closed. Off on weekends, evenings and school holidays. 
Hourly rate range: $18 - $26/hr 
W2 contracted position for the 2023/2024 school-year through Soliant, with renewals available if desired.
