Soliant is excited to present an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Elementary Special Education Teacher to join a well-respected school district near Allentown, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time position with a commitment of 35 hours per week, and it is available for an immediate start, continuing through June 7, 2024. If you are a qualified Special Education Teacher with the necessary Pennsylvania license and a commitment to providing exceptional support to students in Autistic Support classrooms, we encourage you to apply for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that meets the unique needs of students in Autistic Support classrooms.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide direct instruction to students, both individually and in small groups, using evidence-based strategies and accommodations.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the educational team, including paraprofessionals, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Utilize strong classroom management and behavioral support strategies to maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with parents and the multidisciplinary team to develop and review IEPs.
  • Support students in building essential life skills and fostering independence.
  • Complete all required Pennsylvania clearances and commit to PA credentialing if not already certified.

Qualifications:

  • Pennsylvania teaching license with appropriate Special Education certification.
  • Previous experience working in Special Education, particularly with students in Autistic Support classrooms.
  • A strong commitment to providing high-quality educational support and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in Special Education.
  • Availability to start immediately and commit to the position through June 7, 2024.
