Elementary Special Education Teacher (SPED) | Allentown, PA

We are seeking two dedicated and passionate Elementary Special Education Teachers to join our school district in Allentown, PA. These positions will focus on providing support in Autistic Support classrooms. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in creating inclusive and supportive environments for students with autism spectrum disorders, ensuring they receive the tailored education they deserve.

Start/End Date: ASAP - June 7, 2024

Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism spectrum disorders.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in both academic and behavioral areas.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the unique needs of students with autism.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and strategies to address communication, social, and behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and parents to implement effective interventions and strategies.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of students' individualized education plans.
• Foster a sense of belonging and self-confidence among students.

Requirements:

• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching License in Special Education (must have).
• Experience or a strong interest in working with students with autism spectrum disorders.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions for students with autism.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
