Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist to join our exceptional medical center located in the vibrant Permian Basin region of Texas. This is a full-time position with a fixed schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. As an Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in the emergency department, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and ensure exceptional patient outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist with a passion for emergency medicine to contribute to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with emergency medicine physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic plans in the emergency department.
- Conduct thorough medication reviews, assess drug interactions, and provide evidence-based recommendations for optimal drug therapy in emergency care settings.
- Interpret and evaluate physician orders, dispense medications accurately, and provide thorough patient counseling regarding medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Monitor patients' response to therapy, identify and manage medication-related problems, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
- Participate actively in emergency department rounds, providing pharmacotherapy expertise and recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of emergency department protocols, guidelines, and initiatives related to medication management and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in emergency medicine pharmacotherapy, including acute pain management, resuscitation, and emergency drug dosing.
- Educate healthcare professionals and patients on emergency medication management, including appropriate drug selection, administration, and monitoring.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
- Possess and maintain an active State of Texas pharmacist license.

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Completion of a residency program with a focus on emergency medicine pharmacy is preferred.
- Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a pharmacist in a clinical or hospital setting, with a specific focus on emergency medicine.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medicine pharmacotherapy, including acute resuscitation drugs, antidotes, sedation, and pain management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and patients in high-pressure situations.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and pharmacy software systems.
