Entry Level Pharmacy Technician- Perm

We are currently seeking a entry level Pharmacy Technician for a direct hire position in Gunnison, CO. As a vital member of our pharmacy team, you will assist the Pharmacist in providing exceptional pharmaceutical services to our inpatients, outpatients, and various hospital departments. This role involves pharmacy data processing, inventory control, and other essential duties within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain proper storage, packaging, and inventory quantities throughout the hospital.
• Participate in maintaining accurate computer medication profiles, generating daily reports, and processing medication billing.
• Refill Pyxis Med Stations accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare sterile products under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Perform unit medication inspections.
• Maintain pharmacy technician certifications.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: This position requires good vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills. 

Requirements: • High school graduate or GED equivalent. • Fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills. • Pharmacy technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, or equivalent, is required within one year of employment if not received by the date of hire.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities: • Competency in sterile product and chemotherapy preparation. • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a hospital setting. • Basic computer skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively problem-solve.
