Occupational Therapist (OT) Position in Gages Lake, IL School Setting
Position Summary:
We're in search of a qualified and caring Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our vibrant team within a school setting near Gages Lake, IL. As an OT working in a school environment, your role will involve delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services to students facing physical, cognitive, or emotional hurdles. Your primary aim will be to support students in developing, recovering, or enhancing their ability to carry out daily tasks, fostering greater independence and overall well-being.
Duties:
• Conduct in-depth assessments to gauge students' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional strengths and limitations.
• Create individualized treatment plans based on assessment outcomes, taking into account student objectives, capacities, and preferences.
• Execute therapeutic interventions, including exercises, activities, and specialized equipment, to encourage functional independence and enhance overall quality of life.
• Offer hands-on therapy and direction to students to refine motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and range of motion.
• Educate students, families, and caregivers on strategies and approaches to maximize autonomy and integrate therapy objectives into daily life routines.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Sound understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, coupled with knowledge of diverse physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions and their influence on everyday functioning.
• Demonstrated proficiency in assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions.
• Possession of empathy, patience, and awareness of the distinct needs and obstacles faced by individuals undergoing occupational therapy.
