Apply NowWe are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at a school in Oroville, California for the 2023-2024 school year. As a COTA, you will work closely with occupational therapists to help students develop, improve, and maintain skills necessary for daily living and learning.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Assist students in developing fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor skills, and activities of daily living.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' participation and progress in academic and social activities.
- Document student progress and communicate with the occupational therapy team to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and review of IEP goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in California.
- Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
