Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to work in a school setting in Fort Worth, TX. The RN will provide comprehensive healthcare services to students during the 2023-2024 school year. This is a full-time position, with 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The assignment will begin on August 16, 2023, and end on May 23, 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including administering medication, conducting health assessments, and managing chronic health conditions.
- Monitor and manage the health and well-being of students, ensuring their safety and responding to medical emergencies.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific health needs.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to support students' healthcare needs and ensure continuity of care.
- Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and promote healthy habits and lifestyles.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation.
- Adhere to state and federal regulations regarding healthcare practices in schools.
- Provide support and training to school staff on health-related topics and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas.
- Previous experience working as a school nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare practices and protocols in a school setting.
- Familiarity with managing chronic health conditions, including diabetes.
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an educational team.
- Willingness to comply with any required training or certifications.
