Full Time School Social Worker Position Open in Blue Island, IL

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team in Blue Island, Illinois. This full-time position involves providing vital support to students in grades K-8. Candidates must possess an Illinois license and Professional Educator License (PEL) as a School Social Worker. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to students, addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to support students' academic and personal development
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a positive and inclusive school environment
• Offer individual and group counseling to students, addressing issues such as family dynamics, mental health, and behavior management
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to connect students with necessary services
• Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Support crisis intervention and offer guidance during challenging situations
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records

Requirements:

• Valid Illinois license as a School Social Worker
• Professional Educator License (PEL)
• In-depth knowledge of social work principles, interventions, and best practices in an educational setting
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to special education and student services
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and staff effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseload responsibilities and documentation requirements
