Soliant Health is currently seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a school district in East Chicago, IL for the 23-24 school year. This is a full-time position with a commitment of 35 hours per week. The SLP will work with a diverse caseload spanning from Kindergarten to 12th grade students. The position is onsite within the school district.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students' speech and language abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student goals
- Provide direct therapy services to students with various speech and language disorders or delays
- Address areas such as articulation, phonology, expressive and receptive language, pragmatics, fluency, and social communication skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' communication needs in the classroom and other settings
- Attend and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input on goals and objectives
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding strategies and accommodations for students with communication needs
- Stay updated on current research and evidence-based practices in the field of speech-language pathology
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP in Illinois
- Previous experience working with a K-12 caseload is preferred
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to providing high-quality services and supporting students' overall communication development
