Location: Detroit, Michigan

Salary: $35-$37 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, school year schedule

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate General Education Science Teacher to join our team at a middle school in Detroit, Michigan. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of science subjects to students in grades 6-8.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet state standards and promote student learning and success
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and academic achievement
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to support student needs
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
  • Provide opportunities for student exploration and inquiry through hands-on activities and labs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Michigan teaching certification in Science and/or Middle School Education
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a middle school setting preferred
  • Strong content knowledge in science subjects, including Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth Science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to student learning and success
