Job Description: Soliant is currently hiring an Adapted Physical Education Teacher to join a supportive team near the Bell Gardens, CA area. This position is part-time and contracted for the Extended 2022-2023 school year. As an Adapted Physical Education Teacher, you will provide services to students with special needs, following the guidelines outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Your responsibilities will include delivering adapted physical education services and supporting students' physical development and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Provide adapted physical education services to students with special needs
• Develop and implement individualized physical education plans based on students' IEP goals
• Assess students' motor skills, physical abilities, and fitness levels
• Adapt and modify physical education activities to meet students' needs and abilities
• Collaborate with special education teachers and other professionals to support students' overall development and inclusion
• Monitor and document students' progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Promote healthy lifestyles and physical fitness among students

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential or certification in Adapted Physical Education
• Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in an educational setting
• Strong knowledge of adapted physical education principles, techniques, and strategies
• Ability to assess and modify physical activities to meet students' individual needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being in students with disabilities
