Job Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) 

Job Description:

Join our dedicated team as a School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the remainder of the school year in Compton, CA. As an SLP, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development, helping them overcome speech and language challenges that may impact their academic success. By creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, you will empower students to effectively communicate and actively participate in their education.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results
  • Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy services, addressing articulation, phonology, language comprehension and expression, fluency, and social communication skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and a multidisciplinary team to implement effective strategies and adaptations in classrooms and school settings
  • Monitor student progress, document performance, and adjust intervention plans as needed
  • Provide guidance and training to teachers and support staff on fostering communication skills in the classroom
  • Conduct screenings to identify students who may benefit from speech and language services
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and progress reports

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Previous experience as an SLP in a school setting is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language disorders, assessments, and evidence-based interventions
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion for helping students succeed in their communication and educational goals
