Are you an experienced Histo Tech looking for an exciting travel opportunity in Buffalo, New York? We have a fantastic position available for a skilled and dedicated histotechnologist to join our team and provide exceptional laboratory services in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in an area where testing is performed
• Proficiency in histology techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of histopathology and ability to prepare high-quality slides for microscopic examination
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory protocols and procedures
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work 5x 8-hour shifts, PM shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)

Responsibilities:

• Receive, accession, and process tissue specimens for histological examination
• Perform tissue embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures following established protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality control
• Prepare high-quality slides for microscopic analysis
• Perform routine and special stains as required
• Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot any issues with laboratory equipment or procedures
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing and procedures performed
• Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results
• Stay updated with advances in histology techniques and participate in continuing education activities
