There are surrounding school districts in the area of Butterfield, IL that are looking to hire a Speech Language Pathologist for the school year. Below are details and expectations concerning the position and what will be expected from future hires, if this proposition interests you please apply as soon as possible! 
 

  • Hours per week: 35
  • Number of days needed per week: 5
  • Caseload size and types of disabilities:  32 students on caseload 11 are speech only. 
  • Grade levels/age group: K-5
  •  1 Initial evaluation and 2 reevaluations, 18 annual reviews.
  •  IEP Present Levels, Goals and Goal updates, Evaluation Reports as needed.
  • IEP involvement and meeting responsibilities IEP meetings and team meetings 1x per week
  • The building houses three self-contained special education classrooms for students with lower functioning SLD (2-3 years below grade level) and resource level support. 

Expectations:
Speech-language pathologist will be working with students who have problems with speech and language, including related cognitive or social communication problems. Problems may range from being unable to speak at all, to having difficulties with rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering.

Goals:
 You will be expected to foster and facilitate means of communication, including oral speech production, sign language and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC). The main objective is to provide a means for individuals to communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, concerns, or opinions.
