An opportunity is available for an experienced Cath Lab Technologist to support cardiac catheterization procedures in a renowned healthcare setting. This contract role requires specialized skills in cardiac imaging within catheterization laboratories and offers a structured 10-hour shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates with cath lab experience and expertise in circulating and scrub roles will be considered.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hands-on experience as a Cath Lab Circulator (RN) and scrub experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Registered Nurse License for circulator roles or Registered Radiologic Technologist License including Fluoroscopy and ARRT certification
- Preferred experience with Mac Lab/Cardiolab systems
- Knowledge of procedures such as left/right heart catheterizations, angioplasty/stent placement, IVUS, ICE, atherectomy, atrial fibrillation ablations, cardiac device implants (Micra, ICDs, pacemakers), lead extractions, and structural heart interventions including TAVR, TMVR, tricuspid repairs, and LAAC (Watchman)
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain a positive, upbeat attitude
Location Overview: This role is based near Simi Valley, CA, within a well-equipped main hospital housing three state-of-the-art Cath/EP/Hybrid/Structural Heart rooms. The cardiac unit features advanced GE and Philips labs and utilizes Meditech EMR systems. The unit maintains small patient ratios (3 per case) and is staffed by a dedicated team of RNs and Radiologic Technologists working primarily day shifts, with on-call night support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in circulating and scrub duties during complex cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology procedures
- Support patient care pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, potentially including assistance in the Cardiovascular Observation Unit
- Maintain adherence to unit guidelines and hospital policies, including dress code flexibility with hospital or personal scrubs
- Participate in coverage including one weekend per month and one night call per week
