A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technician to contribute expertise in cardiac imaging and patient care within a high-acuity setting. This contract position is based in Waterford, MI, offering a chance to engage with advanced cardiac catheterization procedures and support interventional cardiology teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff, supporting seamless workflow and knowledge sharing
- Monitor and intervene appropriately during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Interpret ECG waveforms, recognize lethal arrhythmias, and respond according to ACLS protocols
- Identify coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections and calculate hemodynamic parameters
- Manage cardiac medications documentation and respond to abnormalities in clinical lab values, including arterial blood gases, electrolytes, and renal markers
- Maintain thorough understanding of extraction devices, thrombolytic therapy indications, and advanced imaging adjuncts such as intravascular ultrasound
- Ensure availability and setup of necessary supplies for diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Actively participate in special projects and relevant clinical committees supporting quality improvement and procedural excellence
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology
- Proficiency in ECG interpretation, ACLS certified or equivalent competence in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Familiarity with pharmacokinetics of cardiac medications and treatment of common cardiac pathologies
- Experience with cardiac cath lab equipment, including fluoroscopy systems and revascularization devices
- Ability to perform hemodynamic monitoring and document catheterization events accurately
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with interventional cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams
