A radiologic technologist specializing in computed tomography (CT) is needed for a night shift contract position. This role offers the chance to apply your technical expertise while delivering compassionate patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. The schedule is Sunday through Tuesday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures independently, ensuring patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.
- Verify clinician orders and obtain comprehensive patient histories to assess for contraindications.
- Prepare and position patients, applying contrast media following strict protocols.
- Utilize critical thinking to adjust technique for radiation dose reduction without compromising image quality.
- Maintain and clean imaging equipment per infection control standards.
- Assist with emergency procedures, restocking crash carts, and life support equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to address patient needs and clarify orders.
- Follow all documentation, quality control, and regulatory procedures, including pre- and post-procedural care.
- Support cross-modality technologists when necessary and engage in ongoing departmental training.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certifications: ARRT Radiography, ARRT Computed Tomography (CT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year experience in radiology, with CT experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Proficient in radiation safety, patient positioning, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
