A healthcare facility in Austell, GA is seeking a skilled cardiac sonographer to perform comprehensive cardiac imaging services including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. This role requires accuracy in measurements, effective communication with patients and physicians, and adherence to safety protocols. The position involves working under the direction of the manager or lead sonographer with responsibilities extending to administration of ultrasound enhancing agents and saline bubble studies. Candidates must be available for variable shifts including some weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify clinician orders and obtain complete patient history prior to procedures.
  • Perform cardiac ultrasound imaging and related measurements accurately.
  • Communicate clearly with patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Administer ultrasound enhancing agents and conduct saline bubble studies as needed.
  • Maintain patient safety, privacy, and comfort during exams.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment according to infection control and quality standards.
  • Document findings concisely and provide preliminary reports to physicians when requested.
  • Participate in ongoing training and quality control activities.
  • Assist team members across modalities when required.
  • Respond to on-call duties and adapt to variable work schedules.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology degree preferred.
  • Current ARDMS, RCS, CCI, RDCS, or RDCS-AE cardiac sonography certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in echocardiography; 2 years hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call rotation.
