A Cardiac Sonographer is needed to perform comprehensive cardiac imaging including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, adhering to established protocols. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnostics and patient comfort. Responsibilities include administering Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEA), conducting saline bubble studies, performing measurements, and providing preliminary findings to physicians when requested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify clinician orders and obtain detailed patient clinical history
  • Prepare patients and explain procedures clearly to minimize anxiety
  • Perform high-quality echocardiograms while ensuring patient safety and dignity
  • Administer UEAs and saline bubble studies following established protocols
  • Review images for clinical acceptability and submit studies to PACS promptly
  • Maintain equipment, adhere to infection control policies, and restock supplies
  • Participate in call rotation, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Document findings accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assist with clerical and support duties to ensure departmental efficiency

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Diagnostic Medical Sonography diploma or degree preferred
  • Certifications: ARDMS, RCS-CCI, RDCS, or RDCS-AE (required upon hire)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1-2 years echocardiography experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently while supporting a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Flexibility for varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and call
