A healthcare facility in Grand Blanc, MI is seeking an experienced EEG Technician for a contract role. This position requires expertise in electroencephalography to support diagnostic testing and patient care in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, set up, and maintain EEG and related diagnostic equipment for patient testing.
- Review patient histories and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Educate patients on the procedures, ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
- Monitor and document patient condition continuously during testing, reporting any adverse reactions promptly.
- Operate EEG, EP, and PSG equipment to collect accurate diagnostic data.
- Identify and correct artifacts during recordings to ensure data quality.
- Score, document, and report results from diagnostic procedures clearly and accurately.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of relevant EEG technician experience, or an associate or technical degree in a related field.
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) required before the start of employment.
- Credentialed as a Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (R.EEG.T) or board eligible under ABRET standards is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of EEG and related neurodiagnostic technology and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
